About Pension “Hoshini Negaiwo”

Introduction

1997

Pension “Hoshini Negaiwo” opened on a hill overlooking the expansive Daisetsuzan National Park, the largest in Japan.
It was spring, nine years after moving from Osaka to fulfill our dream of living in Hokkaido.
Although it is a small hotel on a hill, the interior features imported goods mainly from North America. From sofas to table accessories, the owner personally selected and purchased items during trips abroad, ensuring every detail was thoughtfully chosen.

2006

The hotel was renovated and reopened with the addition of a panoramic lounge.

Why not gather around the wood stove in the evening, have a drink, and enjoy chatting with everyone?

The panoramic lounge now features a new wood stove. It burns beautifully red, reminiscent of twilight, which inspired its name.

Spring, Summer, and Autumn in Furano – Enjoy Rivers and Lakes!

At Furano Pension “Hoshini Negaiwo,” we also run the “Flying Dolphins Adventure Service” as a spring, summer, and autumn activity. Enjoy various water activities surrounded by Furano’s pristine nature, such as rafting in large rubber boats, ducky (a two-person inflatable boat), canyoning (floating downstream with just your body), and SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) on large surfboards.
The activity takes approximately three hours from start to finish.
We offer transportation for guests staying at the pension.

Rafting

Rafting includes the most popular “Sorachi River Rafting,” a course designed for families, “Family Rafting,” the thrilling “Mukawa Rafting,” and “Chubetsu River Rafting” near Asahikawa, Asahiyama Zoo, and Biei.

SUP

Flying Dolphins is the only place in Furano offering SUP (stand-up paddleboarding). Enjoy “Kanayama Lake SUP Tour” on Kanayama Lake, one of the top six largest dam lakes in Japan, or “Nokanan Lake Relaxing SUP Tour” at a quiet lake where no other tours are held.

Experience Winter in Furano!

Ice Fishing on Kanayama Lake

In Hokkaido, you can enjoy ice fishing on frozen lakes. We offer the “Kanayama Lake Ice Fishing Tour,” located about 45 minutes from Furano in Minami Furano Town.

Snowshoe Tours: From “Kita no Kuni Kara” Course to Custom Routes

With snowshoes, you can explore areas usually inaccessible. White Koala offers “Winter Furano Snowshoe Experience” and the “Kita no Kuni Kara Snowshoe Tour” in the Rokugo area, where the drama “Kita no Kuni Kara” was set, commemorating its 40th anniversary in 2021.
